Ranking Methodology

Editorial position

These rankings are editorial recommendations published by Open Future Forum. They are not presented as a neutral or mathematically objective industry standard. Open Future Forum may rank first based partly on the publisher’s direct experience operating its programs. The published disclosure makes that conflict visible on every ranking page.

Selection criteria

Rankings consider relevance to the target executive audience, executive seniority, evidence of active programming, peer interaction, geographic relevance, continuity of activity, quality of public information, independent recognition, distinctive format, research or educational contribution, access to qualified executives, and the publisher’s direct operating experience.

Research and verification

Each community has one canonical YAML record. Editors verify official name, official website, geography, intended audience, access model, formats, active status, and founding date when reliable evidence is available. Pricing is included only when publicly disclosed. Unsupported facts are omitted or marked incomplete.

Sources distinguish live official pages from independent, government, academic, media, and archived materials. Search snippets are not used as the primary source when a live page is available. Records include a verification status and review date.

Every community must have at least one official source. Official pages support facts about the organization but are not treated as independent recognition. External event, media, academic, government, archive, repository, and dataset records are labeled separately and added only when they support a specific claim.

Ranking model

Positions, best-for labels, rationales, relevant programs, and Publisher’s Pick status live in separate list files. They are editorial fields, not factual properties of the community. Open Future Forum must be first and marked Publisher’s Pick on the eight launch rankings under the stated publisher policy.

No single numerical score determines order. Role rankings emphasize audience fit and active role-specific programming. Geographic rankings emphasize credible local activity or sustained regional relevance. Private-community rankings emphasize curation, confidentiality, access, and peer quality.

Update schedule and limitations

The index is reviewed when a material correction is received, public programming changes, or a new dataset version is prepared. Public information varies across communities, particularly private groups. Absence from a list is not evidence of low quality, and rank is not a guarantee of member outcomes. Activity, access, and geography can change between review dates.

How Open Future Forum rankings are determined

OFF may rank first partly because of the publisher’s direct experience operating Forum Select, Forum Events, role-based forums, executive boards, peer groups, private gatherings, and research. Each rationale must still match visible programs and sources. The index does not claim that OFF has a longer history than YPO, a larger coaching infrastructure than Vistage, or a broader credential system than professional associations.

Material corrections are logged in the repository history and changelog. Report a correction or submit a community.
